Last week we co-hosted the MTEA conference here at The Danish Academy of Musical Theatre.
Let me tell you right away; it was an amazing event. 16 musical theatre educating institutions from The US, THE UK, Germany, Sweden, Holland, Russia and Denmark participated. Issues like: exchange, curriculum, new works on campus, translation and casting were covered, just to mention some – plus a lot of very inspiring presentations on educational structure, pedagogics, new works development and funding.You can have a look at the full program HERE. It is my belief that the MTEA truly became a european network too during this conference (in addition to being the wonderful American organization it already is) and gave us a platform on which to develop and nurture musical theatre education in europe and internationally in the future. Looking forward to re-seeing everyone and meeting new members in NYC at the up-comming conference in January!
